In August 2024, a group of interested participants attending an infectious disease modeling workshop in Cambridge, UK, met to discuss the potential and need for a global society in infectious disease dynamics.
Through a series of discussions at the meeting, followed by regular zoom meetings from late 2024 to early 2025, a Founding Committee was established to develop proposals for the Mission, Values, and Strategic Goals for a society.
Reaching out through professional connections and existing organizations and networks, the committee will conduct a global engagement exercise, seeking the views from a wide range of potential society members and stakeholders, updating and refining those key documents and initial activities for the proposed organization.
The outcome of that process is a commitment to establish the Global Society for Infectious Disease Dynamics (GSIDD). The proposed purpose and activities are documented on this website.
